I have lived outside India now for 27 years, and on every trip home, I would look through our collection of old family photographs, some of them dating back to the late 1930s. Over the years, I could see a deterioration in many of them due to age, humidity and repeated handling. Of course, having the collection in hard copy with no negatives meant that these memories of old times spent with loved ones (many of whom have passed away) could only be relived in our ancestral home. All of this changed when my students Rajasekhar and Raghuram informed me about their entrepreneurial venture ScanCorner, which digitizes photographs, negatives and slides. I immediately sent them more than 500 photos from our family collection, and have been delighted with their service. Now, all my family members have all the photos in high resolution digital format on their computers. Many of the photos have been painstakingly restored. We also have a link that we can share with family and friends, and can upload selected photos onto Facebook, Twitter, etc. I am impressed with the dedication and customer focus of Scancorner, and strongly recommend their service to everybody
